SCOUTING FLEA MARKET - Must Signup in classes

Bring your excess unit or personal scouting gear to sell or barter with other units or Scouters within the council.  Each registrant will have an allotted space on the parade field along with up to two tables.  No unit may have more than two spaces or four tables.  Spots are first-come, first served.  This is a great opportunity to buy, sell or trade some gently used gear at an affordable price.  It’s a win-win for scouting!  So clean out those attics, trailers sheds, or wherever you are storing that gear and sign up for a space when you register.  All items being offered must be within the scouting realm.  We ask that you bring your own tables and chairs if possible.  We do have some tables for use but in a limited number.  Please let us know if you will be needing tables.  Any leftover items must be removed from the camp property at the end of the day.  You may arrive as early as 7:30 AM to check-in and set up your spot.  The flea market will run from 9AM to 12PM.

COPE Milk Crate Challenge - Must sign up in classes

This included event will have you taking milk crates and building the largest milk crate stack you can while climbing and standing on the stack. Come challenge your leadership and teamwork skills while you try to be the unit with the tallest milk crate tower!  Must be at least 9 years old to participate.

COPE Zip Line - Must sign up in classes

This included event will send you soaring across the COPE field while safely harnessed to our zip line.  A highly anticipated activity, so make sure to sign up early so you don't miss out.  Must be at least 11 years old to participate.

OPTIONAL SHOOTING SPORTS - Must Signup in classes

For Cub Scout age youth that opt for the additional $5 fee, our shooting sports instructors will have the bb range and the archery range open for their use from 12:30PM to 4:30PM.  As per new cub guidelines, a parent must accompany their child on the shooting line.  You must select a time block on the registration form and be on time for the safety talk at the beginning of each block of time.  You may select one time block for each range for your $5 fee.  Colored wristbands will be given out at check in to allow entry to the range.  Anyone not wearing a wristband will be asked to leave the range area.  Safety talks and instruction will be given before any shooting commences.  You may not bring your own firearm.

For all other Scouters that are not Cub Scouts (adults included) that opt for the additional $5 fee per shooting event, our shooting sports instructors will open the shotgun range for trap shooting, the brand new 3D action archery range from 12:30PM to 4:30PM.  For those over 14, the cowboy action range will also be available from 10AM to 12PM.  You must select a time block on the registration form and be on time for the safety talk at the beginning of each block of time.  Colored wristbands will be given out at check-in to allow entry to the range.  Anyone not wearing a wristband will be asked to leave the range area.

3D Action Archery Course - Must Signup in classes

Your group of up to 4 youth and 1 adult will be given all the equipment needed for this course.  Please allow approximately 1.5 hours to complete it, as it is multiple stations over a mile-long walking trail.  The last group will leave at 2:30PM to ensure enough time to complete the course.  All groups must have at least one adult with them for supervision.  (Supervising adults do not need to pay the additional fee)  You do not need to be an expert archer to try out this new and exciting course but it is asked that you be somewhat familiar with archery equipment, as no instruction will be given while on the course.  You may not bring your own equipment.

Shotgun Range - Must Signup in classes

You will be given all equipment needed to shoot.  You have the option of a 20-gauge or 12-gauge single-shot shotgun.  You will have the opportunity to shoot 5 rounds at flying clay targets.  This will ensure everyone who wants to shoot will have an opportunity to do so.  You must select a time block on the registration form and be on time for the safety talk at the beginning of each block of time.  Safety talks and instruction will be given before any shooting commences.  You may not bring your own firearm.

Cowboy Action Range - Must Signup in classes

In addition to the other ranges, those Scouters over the age of 14 can opt to participate in the Citta town of Deadwood’s cowboy action range.   Shotgun, rifle, and pistol all will be utilized in our exclusive Wild West setting while shooting at targets from open windows.  Instructors will be on hand to walk you through this unique opportunity.  Cowboy action will only be open from 10AM to 12PM during the flea market so the instructors will have the opportunity to run the other ranges for the afternoon.  You must select a time block on the registration form and be on time for the safety talk at the beginning of each block of time.  Colored wristbands will be given out at check-in to allow entry to the range.  Anyone not wearing a wristband will be asked to leave the range area.  Safety talks and instruction will be given before any shooting commences.  You may not bring your own firearms.

PARKING

If you are dropping off your scout for the day, make sure you utilize the one-way entrance and exit in camp.  Follow the signs.  If you are parking, use the main parking lot, and please park as close together as possible to conserve space.  Check-in will be at the pavilion in that parking lot.

CHECK IN

Upon arrival and before you leave the parking lot area, you MUST check-in at the pavilion. We need to have an accurate accounting of who will be in camp and we will have wristbands, spots for the flea market, and a few other housekeeping issues. If you arrive at camp after the check-in station has closed, you must check-in at the camp office. If you need to leave for any reason, you must check out at the camp office and back in if you are returning.  Please help us adhere to these rules, as we need to have as accurate of a headcount as possible in the event of an emergency.

Enjoy the day!  This event is held entirely outdoors.  Please dress accordingly.  This is only our second annual event like this, so please feel free to help us improve the day should we want to do this again by offering your feedback (positive or negative) to either myself or any of the staff volunteering to help run it.  All questions prior to the event can be directed to me at bpage7473@gmail.com

Hope to see you there!
