Operation Halloween
Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21
Operation Halloween is a wholesome family-fun event provided for our communities by the Rotary Clubs of Southern Ocean County in conjunction with the Scouts of the Jersey Shore Council.
It is scheduled from 4 pm – 10 pm on Friday, Oct 20th, and Saturday, Oct 21st at the Joseph A. Citta Scout Reservation in Brookville, NJ.
Operation Halloween has Pumpkin Street, which offers a free hay maze, games, face painting, costumed characters, and pumpkin painting. Also, various types of food will be sold, along with organizational displays and other Halloween activities.
There is no entrance fee to enter Pumpkin Street.
In addition, there is a “non-scare” Hay Ride, a Haunted Walk, and the “infamous" Terror in the Pines.
An access ticket is needed for these activities which are $20 per person. However, a $5 discount coupon is available through various organizations, lowering the price to $15 per person. (Children age 3 & younger are free.)
While the main purpose of Operation Halloween is to provide a wholesome family fun activity, groups are welcome to utilize this event as a fundraiser by:
- Distributing $5 Discount Coupons. A group will receive $5 for every paid entrance with a discount coupon with the group’s name purchased at the entrance gate.
- Sponsor a booth for selling food & items and/or providing a wholesome activity (ex – scarecrow making, game), retaining any profit they earn.
- Produce a Haunted Walk Scare, with the group receiving a $150 commission.
Businesses may also participate by donating their sales profit to a non-profit organization of their choosing.
