Range and Target Activities
Attention Unit Leaders!
Any unit participating in shooting sports activities outside of a Council, District or Resident Camp must have a least 1 person in attendance 21 years of age or older who has taken the below 30-minute class prior to the activity. This new National policy took effect on September 1st 2024. You can use the link below or search for the title in the catalog on your MyScouting account.
Range Activities Safety
The purpose of Scouting America’s range and target activities is first and foremost centered on teaching safety. Scouting America’s range and target activities are developed and implemented through age-appropriate training and experiences.
Most programs are based upon one-hour sessions for scheduling purposes.
Unit size and activity will determine the actual length.
Pricing Change: Due to ongoing increases for ammunition and maintenance supplies, please note that effective January 1, 2024, adult volunteers will be changed half price for participation in shooting sports as opposed to not being charged.
No personal firearms, including BB guns or archery equipment may be brought to the Citta Scout Reservation. Personal hearing and/or eye protection are permitted.
Cub Scout Program
Please note that Jersey Shore Council does not permit Lion Cubs to participate in shooting sports. Tiger Parent/Guardian must be on the firing line with their Tiger Cub.
